Alpine Bible Church began in the spring of 1998, when a small group of believers sensed God’s leading to form a church for the sake of His name. Trusting that He would bless faithfulness, we stepped out in faith, believing the Spirit would build a ministry for His glory.
In those early days, we gathered in homes, crafted a statement of faith, prayed for God’s direction, and contributed our resources to the work. Leaders were chosen from among us, following the pattern of Acts 6:3—men “of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom.” These men served until Pastor Byron was called as our shepherd. Wanting to reflect our community while holding firmly to God’s Word, we took the name Alpine Bible Church.
As the church grew, we met in the Garaway High School gym until, in 2006, God graciously provided land just outside of town where our current building was completed. Along the way, the Lord knit our hearts with Steppin Out Missions, giving us a deep passion for global and local outreach. Through that partnership and other opportunities, God has allowed us to share in kingdom impact both in our community and around the world.
Through it all, we’ve been reminded again and again that our story is not our own, but the work of God’s Spirit. Our mission remains clear: “To Know Christ Jesus Together and to Make Him Known.” By His grace, may this continue to define who we are.
